Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS)

IDS is at the cutting edge of vehicle diagnostics and gives Les Potts 4 Wheel drive the same Land Rover diagnostic system as all Land Rover main dealers.

Land Rover Integrated Diagnostic System The IDS diagnostic system comes with 5 year Land Rover software updates, hardware support and service.

The IDS also gives the technician working on the vehicle wireless access to Land Rover’s Global Technical Reference (GTR). This 24 hour online service carries technical information for all Land Rover models including workshop manuals, service recalls and technical bulletins.

Land Rover's IDS at Les Potts

It was an objective from day one to supply the new Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) on a portable computer which exceeded the outgoing Testbook T4 WDS (Worldwide Diagnostic System) for performance and reliability. Land Rover decided on the Panasonic Toughbook CF-18 which is renowned for its robustness and is used around the world in the most demanding situations.

This is a diagnostic system with unrivalled benefits. From key fob programming and air suspension to interrogating illuminated dash lamps, all diagnostic and guided repairs can be carried out quickly and efficiently with IDS on the complete Land Rover model range from 1989 to date.

Integrated Diagnostic SystemIDS is wirelessly connected to Land Rover at all times. As the software programmers at Land Rover make changes, these are down loaded the next morning onto our IDS diagnostic system. When IDS is connected to your vehicle it systematically interrogates all the vehicle control units which are automatically reprogrammed with the latest software to meet changing specifications and legislation. This update can significantly enhance the performance of your vehicle systems.

All vehicles can be checked by chassis number and matched up with any outstanding technical bulletins or service recalls.

IDS is connected as part of the service schedule on Discovery 3, Range Rover Sport and Freelander 2 models from 2005 onwards, IDS is used to detect any potential problems before they become a problem.

IDS also incorporates Land Rover s acclaimed hand-held tester. Powered by the diagnostic plug on all vehicles from 1996, the hand-held tester is totally mobile and can diagnose all major Land Rover systems on and off the road.
